What is Competition Cheer?

Our competition teams cheer at games on Saturdays just like our Sideline Cheer programs. The difference is our competition teams travel to multiple competitions.

There are 3 Competitions in 2020:

  • Locals – October 27th in Central Texas
  • Regionals – November 22nd in Dallas, Texas
  • Nationals –TBD in Orlando, Florida

Competition Cheer Requirements

Competition cheer requires a higher level of commitment, focus and time. In addition to sideline cheers, our team will be learning a competition routine that will push them to their highest potential and teach new skills. Practices will be at least 3 nights per week and there will be 1-2 weekends where a 4 hour choreography camp will be scheduled.

While no experience is required for competition, each cheerleader should know and understand commitment needed to their teammates.

Financial Commitment

In addition to the registration and uniform costs, competition cheer has some added expenses. All costs associated with the travel for regionals and nationals is the responsibility of each family.

For Nationals we would recommend estimating $1,000-$1,200 per person (cheerleader & parent/chaperone) . This would encompass flight, lodging and park tickets. Food is not included in the estimate. Competition cheer families should EXPECT to advance to Disney in Nationals and start financially preparing as early as possible.

Team fundraising options will be provided to the head coaches early in the season.

Regionals

Regionals will take place on Sunday November, 22nd in Dallas, Texas. Our teams will travel to Dallas on Saturday the 21st and stay in a recommended hotel (TBD) that night.

The top 3 teams in each division advance to Nationals in Orlando, Fl.
